Get to Know Dr. Benjamin DeShetler
Dr. DeShetler loves treating entire families, watching them grow and thrive year after year, with the best possible care and technology. He enjoys having a warm, comfortable environment where his patients can trust they are in great hands. For over 20 years, he has built deep connections within the community, and he looks forward to making many more in the time to come.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
After completing his undergraduate education at Emory University and graduating from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, Dr. DeShetler went on to do his residency at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago.
Since then, Dr. DeShetler has fully dedicated himself to staying on the leading edge of dentistry. He earned an advanced implant certification through Apsun Dental Implant Training and also has his Invisalign Level 3 certification. He’s certified to offer BOTOX and dermal fillers through the American Academy of Facial Esthetics and has over a decade of experience with CAD/CAM dentistry (which enables him to design, make, and place high-quality restorations in as little as one appointment). On top of this, he’s a longtime member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, and Spear Education.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. DeShetler has lived in Atlanta for over 30 years, and he met his wife, Jennifer, while at Emory University. They both went to graduate school at The Ohio State University and were married soon after. After living in Chicago for a year, they moved back to Atlanta, which brought him to the practice he still calls home. They then had two wonderful children, a son and a daughter, who graduated from the Westminster Schools in Atlanta.
When he isn’t spending time with patients or his family, Dr. DeShetler likes to travel, go to the beach, and hike in north Georgia. He’s also a huge college football fan, an avid car enthusiast, and a bit of a foodie.
